Pastor Richard Miles

Pastor Richard was born in Newport and grew up under the ministry of Rev. Hugh Morgan in Malpas Road Evangelical Church. After a 17 year career in primary school teaching, Richard moved to Ireland with his wife Annmarie, who is from Dublin. There they both studied Applied Theology with the Irish Bible Institute; giving music lessons in their spare time. They have no children, but they do have lots of books and musical instruments.

After graduating, Richard was asked to go to a church in Cyprus as their temporary pastor. Returning to Ireland, they became part of a church in Co. Kildare where Richard often preached.

In December 2014 God led Richard and Annmarie back to Wales and soon after, Richard was invited as a visiting preacher to Upper Trosnant. It wasn't long before he and Annmarie felt very much at home. Over the next few months it became clear to everyone that God wanted them to stay!

Pastor Richard says: It is a great joy to lead the congregation at Upper Trosnant, and to preach and teach God's word. I pray that God will be at work in a mighty way in Pontypool and the surrounding valley. I am excited by the opportunity to share His love, as I work with this great team, serving our church and our town.
